Thundercats...HO!!

Well Gencon was a blast this year! As it has been every year, but I made some great sales on my badges and prints, which suprised me because of the economy. But I'm not complaining! It only means that my art is going in the right direction, right?

I met a fantastic artist at a one hour painting seminar. He was kind enough to look at one of my watercolor posters and give me compliments! He told me his first official art job was there at Gencon, doing art for a trading card game. I'd love to try my hand at something like that...

Thundercats aired their newer series, and it looks very promising. The story is tightened and given more depth, the animation is just fantastic, and the voice actors are great. Can't wait to see more!

And here is a little sketch inspired from the show...

Getting Ready for Gencon

If you don't know what Gencon is, allow me to introduce you to the world's largest gaming convention in the world! It's located here in my small town state of Indiana, mostly because it's a highly convenient location in the midwest. Every year I pay for an art table and meet really interesting people, brush up on my technique with other artists, and get lost in the wonderful dealers room. This year I hope to do the same, and maybe make some publishing contacts. With Gencon, anything could happen.

I've worked on my portfolio all year, hoping to impress the crowds and any art director I may find. And it all starts next week! This is the part where things feel really surreal.

This year will be exciting because I'm offering new products other than the standard prints, like posters and hard laminated Zodiac badges! So if you plan on coming to this wonderful event, please drop by my table in Anime Artist Alley and say hi!
